Welcome to the second volume in Wagram's Bossa Nova series, first projected in in 2022: Joao Gilberto's 'Chega De Saudade' ('Enough Of Saudade') sets a rousing, antidepressant tone, as he should, his picking and voicing impossibly light, this being from the eponymous 1959 album by the Brazilian cantor. The proceeding selection traces just how quickly that language travelled: Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd carry the early US dialogue, while Quincy Jones' 'Soul Bossa Nova' hear it reformed for more polished settings. Ella Fitzgerald's 'Desafinado' was bound for it too, and Baden Powell and Luiz Bonfa see it through to the end of the line.
