Ungnoi UN-M8 Isolation Spikes are crafted from exceptional non-magnetic stainless steel, ensuring durability and purity in signal transmission. Their hemispherical design minimizes contact with surfaces, effectively isolating your audio system from vibrations and resonance, thereby enhancing sound clarity and detail. With a standard M8 diameter, these spikes are versatile and compatible with a wide range of loudspeaker setups and HiFi racks, making them an ideal upgrade for audiophiles seeking refined acoustic performance and a more immersive listening experience. Elevate your audio system’s stability and precision with these meticulously engineered isolation spikes.
Exceptional quality of non-magnetic stainless steel materials. It's hemispherical design with minimal contact can effectively isolates your system from the base. Standard M8 diameter: it can be used for loudspeakers spikes or HiFi racks upgrade
Features
- Vibration isolation: The UN-M8 spike is designed to reduce and isolate audio components from external vibrations and interference.
- Material: It is made from high-quality, non-magnetic stainless steel, which Ungnoi says helps to enhance overall system performance by preventing magnetic interference.
- Hemispherical design: A special hemispherical design on the spike's tip minimizes the contact area with the base surface. This is intended to improve isolation and neutralize unwanted harmonic resonances.
- Compatibility: The UN-M8 has a standard M8 (8mm) thread diameter, making it compatible with most loudspeakers and audio racks that accept M8 screw fittings.
- Adjustability: The spikes have an adjustable level, allowing users to fine-tune the stability and performance of their equipment.
- Load capacity: A set of four UN-M8 spikes has a maximum loading capacity of 240kg.
How to use
Featuring a standard M8 diameter, these spikes are suitable for upgrading loudspeakers or HiFi racks with ease and precision. To use Ungnoi UN-M8 spikes, you'll screw them into the threaded inserts on your audio equipment (like speakers or a HiFi rack) to isolate the component from vibration. You will then adjust each spike to level the equipment and create firm, three-point contact with the floor.
The UN-M8 is designed to also be used with Ungnoi's M-System audio racks. These high-end racks are also made from solid, non-magnetic stainless steel. Each layer of the M-System can be equipped with UN-M8 spikes to further isolate individual components and prevent the "stethoscope effect," where vibrations are transmitted through the rack.
- Prepare the component: If you're installing the spikes on speakers, lay the speaker on its side or carefully place it upside down on a soft surface to avoid damage to the cabinet.
- Attach the locknuts: For each spike, first thread a locknut onto it before screwing it into the component. This will be used later to secure your height adjustment.
- Screw in the spikes: Screw all four UN-M8 spikes into the threaded inserts on the bottom of your equipment. Screw them in far enough that they are stable but still have room for adjustment.
- Position the equipment: Carefully lift your speaker or rack into its final position. Do not drag the equipment on the spikes, as this can damage both the spikes and your floor.
-
Level the equipment: The goal is for the equipment to be completely stable and not wobble. Use a spirit level on top of the component to assist with this process.
- Find the lowest point: Identify the lowest corner of your equipment.
- Adjust upward: Screw that corner's spike upwards until it makes firm contact with the floor.
- Work diagonally: Adjust the opposite, highest corner's spike down to meet the floor and level the component.
- Adjust remaining spikes: Continue adjusting the other spikes to achieve a perfect level without any rocking or instability.
- Secure the locknuts: Once the equipment is perfectly level and stable, use a spanner or wrench to tighten the locknuts against the bottom of the equipment cabinet or spike bar. This prevents the spikes from moving and locks your adjustment in place.
