The Synergistic Research Ethernet Switch Mk II represents a significant leap forward in network audio technology and digital audio reproduction, incorporating advanced innovations first developed for our flagship Voodoo server and PowerCell SRX line conditioner. Inside, we now house our most current Electromagnetic Cells for signal filtration, our Ultra-Low Frequency (ULF) biasing system, and our latest linear power supply technology, building upon the success of our first-generation UEF Ethernet Switch in such a way that dramatically improves every aspect of its performance to achieve unprecedented levels of digital signal purity. Audibly, these advancements translate to a noticeably expanded soundstage, enhanced resolution, and improved tonal accuracy across the frequency spectrum compared to the original UEF Ethernet Switch. Bass notes gain authority and articulation, while treble extends with airy precision, unveiling musical details that were previously obscured. With the Synergistic Research Ethernet Switch Mk II, we set another new standard for networked audio.

At the heart of the Mk II are our next-generation Electromagnetic Cells (EM Cells), the first reengineering of their technology since we sought our original patent. Initially developed for our PowerCell SRX to address both power and signal clarity in the digital domain, they selectively filter high-frequency noise from incoming AC power and the digital signal path, eliminating electromagnetic interference (EMI) and switching noise that can degrade audio quality. This results in a significantly lower noise floor compared to our original UEF Ethernet Switch.

Ultra Low Frequency Biasing: Shape the Stage

A critical advancement in the Mk II is introducing our ULF (Ultra Low Frequency) Biasing system, a feature absent in the first-generation model. This groundbreaking technology replaces high-frequency noise with harmonics of the Earth’s Schumann Resonance, which pass through the EM Cells unaltered. Unlike our previous switch, which focused solely on first order noise reduction, the Mk II enhances system musicality through this ULF Biasing.

Linear Power Supply: Strong and Silent

The Mk II also incorporates our latest linear power supply (LPS) technology, refined during the development of the Voodoo server. This advanced LPS optimizes the DC bias for the EM Cells and the switch itself, unlocking performance levels unattainable from the first-gen UEF Switch. The result is cleaner power delivery and more stable, jitter-free data transmission, even under peak network loads.

SR Ground Block: This goes to 11

We’ve even included a direct connection port so you can star ground your new Ethernet Switch UEF to an SR Ground Block for an even lower noise floor. Subjectively in our reference system with an Ethernet Switch UEF we hear a more natural presentation of space and harmonic texture that rivals the best LP and tape playback. We also hear a Jet Black noise floor and dynamics analog rigs cannot match. Perhaps we have finally achieved “Perfect Sound Forever.” The only question is, have we surpassed analog playback? Yes!

Features
  • Next-Gen Electromagnetic (EM) Cells: The heart of the Mk II features re-engineered EM Cells that selectively filter high-frequency noise from both the incoming AC power line and the digital signal path, dropping the digital noise floor considerably compared to the Mk I
  • ULF (Ultra-Low Frequency) Biasing: Borrowed from top-tier Synergistic Research conditioning blocks, this newly added biasing system actively conditions the signal to expand the perceived soundstage and improve resolution
  • Dual Linear Power Supplies (LPS): Rather than utilizing generic, noisy wall-wart power adapters, the unit features two onboard linear power supplies to deliver clean, jitter-free DC power to the internal switch chip and EM circuits
  • Premium Bundled Accessories: It comes standard with a Synergistic Research Pink Fuse pre-installed and ships with an audiophile-grade 5ft (1.5m) Foundation SX 12 AWG power cable
  • Chassis & Vibration Isolation: Constructed using a heavy, solid billet aluminum chassis paired with a carbon fibre top plate and structural carbon feet to effectively damp mechanical vibrations
  • Star Grounding Port: Features a direct banana plug ground connector, allowing users to tie the switch directly into an external Synergistic Research Ground Block for an even lower noise floor.
Specifications
  • Port Count: 5 ethernet ports (1 input, 4 outputs).
  • Network Speed: 100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit).
  • Dimensions: 2.6" H x 10" W x 6" D (6.6 cm x 25.4 cm x 15.2 cm).
  • Weight: 6.2 lbs (2.8 kg)

About

Synergistic Research is an American high-end audio manufacturer founded in 1992 by Ted Denney in California, recognized for its handcrafted power conditioners, active cables, acoustic treatments, and UEF tuning accessories. The brand rejects the idea of passive connectivity, employing a holistic "total system approach" that relies on active electromagnetic biasing, 1,000,000-volt Quantum Tunneling material treatments, and advanced graphene integration to optimize the electrical and acoustic environment. Their premium product ecosystem—ranging from the single-outlet PowerCell ONE and multi-outlet PowerCell SX line to their widely utilized Purple and Master UEF fuses—is engineered to aggressively lower the system noise floor and maximize dynamic range without introducing traditional current-limiting restrictions.
