The first generation of the ACROSS series was introduced in 2006 with the revolutionary "C.I.S." cross-insulated stabilizer structure, which uses an air layer as a damper. Its excellent performance was universally recognized, and it became the core cable series of Oyaide Electric, with a total shipment of over 100,000 meters. However, production of the original ACROSS series was discontinued in 2013 due to the end of PCOCC-A conductors.
After many difficulties, we created the "102SSC" precision conductor to replace the PCOCC-A, and commercialized the new ACROSS series using this conductor. Now, the ACROSS 2000, the only remaining speaker cable in the ACROSS series, has been upgraded to the ACROSS 3000 using the 102SSC precision conductor.
The "ACROSS 3000" uses the "102SSC" precision conductor and Misu Cable's patented "3E Twist" technology, and inherits the basic structure of the original, including the C.I.S. structure and the coaxial twin conductor, while upsizing the conductor cross-sectional area by 1.5 times compared to the ACROSS 2000.
The cross-sectional area of the conductor has been upsized by 1.5 times (from 2.0sq to 3.0sq). As a result, the conductor resistance was greatly reduced (from 0.84Ω to 0.63Ω/100m). "102 SSC" - Oyaide Electric Precision Conductor
- To avoid impurities as much as possible, only virgin copper that does not contain any recycled copper is used in accordance with JIS C1011.
- Peeling process is applied to remove 100% of impurities attached to the surface.
- In order to facilitate the flow of electrical signals through the surface layer of the conductor, the strand is made finer using a natural diamond die to improve the surface smoothness of the strand.
- The stranded wire is processed with a processing accuracy of ±1μm, far exceeding the standard error tolerance of ±8μm.
- Two annealing processes are used to eliminate mechanical stress distortions in the strands.
- Thorough product control of manufacturing control values, maintenance, shipping days, etc. Achieved the highest conductivity of 102.3% IACS.
Patented "3E Stranded" Technology for Twisting Three Different Sizes of Wires Together
The 3E stranding structure is a concentric stranding arrangement of stranded wires in a lump-sum twisted wire conductor, and by arranging three different strand diameters, the stranding arrangement is made denser. By arranging three different strand diameters, the strand arrangement is made denser, enabling a finer conductor structure and improving conductor characteristics.
The strands of these three different conductor diameters are arranged geometrically to minimize the gaps between strands and improve strand density.
Furthermore, the outer diameter of the strands has been downsized to maintain a stable and highly accurate outer diameter, and the cross section after twisting is a perfect circle, an unprecedented conductor structure in the world. This ensures uniform adhesion between the insulator and conductor, eliminating random thickness of the insulation material and making it uniform.
C.I.S. Structure with Air Layer as a Damper
The C.I.S. structure is a unique Oyaide Electric cross-insulated stabilizer structure that uses an air layer as a damper to reduce capacitance and improve high frequency characteristics, while damping vibration with its superior stabilizer effect. The C.I.S. structure supports the center conductor not on a surface but on a point, minimizing mutual interference between the center conductor and the outside.
The internal air damper is a completely new idea. Conventional approaches to vibration are to use a compound to dampen internally generated vibrations, but with the ACROSS 3000, the idea is not to absorb and dampen vibrations, but to release them. This is a new approach.
In addition, the C.I.S. structure not only has an excellent stabilizer effect, but also contributes greatly to the improvement of electrical characteristics. In addition, the C.I.S. structure not only provides excellent stabilization, but also contributes to improved electrical properties. The air layer is highly effective in significantly reducing capacitance.
The insulating material used in the C.I.S. structure is a high polymer polyolefin that has an extremely low dielectric constant (1/4) compared to PVC. The C.I.S. structure is made of a polymeric polyolefin that has a very low dielectric constant of 1/4 compared to PVC. These unique structures and materials give the ACROSS 3000 an unrivaled agility of response and stress-free spatial expression.
