Instead of using the high-speed switching found in Class D designs, Chakra technology uses a "hybrid" linear approach:

• Monolithic IC: At low current levels, the amplifier uses a single-chip integrated circuit (monolithic) to provide high speed and precision.
• Bipolar Transistors: When more power is needed, an array of large bipolar transistors acts as "boosters" to provide the necessary current.
• Linear performance: This design maintains the linear (continuous) signal path typical of Class AB amplifiers while offering much higher efficiency and less heat.
