The Black Cube Statement is the entry-level model in our Black Cube series. With the usual high-grade quality of workmanship and the sophisticated circuit design this phono preamp is hardly inferior to its large siblings – and saves your budget! The Black Cube Statement will impress you – no matter if you are a newbie to the high-end sector or a returner. Your favourite LPs shine in new splendor and new acquisitions really come into their own now. That way collecting records is truly great fun again!
With an excellent price-performance ratio the term “entry-level model“ is fundamentally redefined. The use of high-quality long-life components from selected manufacturers is self-evident for us so that already the smallest phono preamp of our Black Cube series will bring you the captivating magic of analogue reproduction. Needless to say that all components we use have been designed with longevity and dependability in mind.
Manufacturer Burr Brown supplies us with – sonically outstanding – gain stages. For the passive RIAA filter network we use high-grade, transient-resistant foil capacitors with narrow tolerance. That way we can ensure that transients, dynamics and sonic timbres will get straight to the listener in a genuine manner. For the bass decoupling between the linear gain stages we use MKP types. Furthermore, all electrolytic capacitors are low-ESR types, all resistors are low-noise metal film versions. We only use switches with gold-plated contacts for toggling between gain or impedance settings resp.
Of course, the Black Cube Statement can handle all common cartridges on the market, from high-output MM to MC. Practice-oriented MC impedances are directly selectable. In addition each channel features a slot for the solder-free plug-in of a custom impedance. On request we will gladly enclose resistors with your order for matching your system to this phono stage – free of charge, naturally.
Due to its modest dimensions the Black Cube Statement can be placed very close to the turntable which will minimise possible losses resulting from cable lengths. By the way, Lehmannaudio is always dedicated to detail, not only with the component selection, but during the entire manufacturing process: for instance, the enclosure of the audio section is made of a non-magnetic material (aluminium) and the cover lid is mechanically dampened.

About
Lehmannaudio Vertriebs GmbH was originally founded in 1988 by Norbert Lehmann, a young audio engineering student, in Cologne, Germany. Through those early days, Norbert developed a deep understanding of how the quality of certain electrical devices affected the end sound-performance of an amplifier. The cumulative result of this formative period was manifest in 1995, when Lehmannaudio released the Black Cube phono stage.
The Black Cube is now a cult object in the audiophile market. Still available today in almost the same form as the original model, the Black Cube took components more commonly found in studio mixing desks and brought them to a hi-fi product. The result was an affordable phono stage that sounded truly sublime. In 2004, the next icon was born; the Linear Headphone Amplifier (originally called Black Cube Linear) again took studio principles and brought them to the hi-fi sector, allowing hi-fi fans to experience the true engineering ability of Norbert Lehmann.
Since 2004 the phono stage and headphone amplifier sectors have been happy homes for Lehmannaudio products, and now the company can boast a range of products in each sector that are suitable for all budgets and technical requirements.
