Les Plus Grands Success De Chic: Chic’s Greatest Hits‘ is a greatest hits album by the American R&B band Chic, originally released on Atlantic Records in late 1979. It includes the biggest hits from their first three albums: ‘Chic’ (1977), ‘C’est Chic’ (1978) and ‘Risque’ (1979). The seven-track album, which omits the 1979 hit single ‘My Forbidden Lover’ and replaces it with ‘Chic Cheer’ and also combines three 7-inch edits and one extended 12-inch mix with three album versions, was the only compilation to be released during the band’s six years on Atlantic.

Nile Rodgers, who had started his career in the house band of the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem, and bassist Bernard Edwards, who sadly passed away suddenly in 1996, launched their Chic Organization Ltd. in New York in 1976.

They quickly became the main driving force of a decade inspired by disco grooves and fusion chords, after early hits such as "Everybody Dance" and "Le Freak" had successfully defined their style. Today, it is part of pop common knowledge that Edwards' bass line from "Good Times" provided the Sugar Hill Gang with the initial hip hop spark "Rapper's Delight" and was also the heavy inspiration for Queen and "Another One Bites The Dust".

Every lover of the genre knows that it was this formation that shaped the disco scene from 1977 and dominated it for years, and that Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers helped other young musicians to stardom, including Madonna, Sister Sledge and Duran Duran. Every track on this compilation is a hit.
