It's the original and the oldest series in the house of Canton: our Ergo is the epitome of a classic hi-fi loudspeaker with noble ingredients and a classy appearance. It has never changed its character over the years and yet the Canton Ergo is at the cutting edge of technology. It is constantly being optimized by our developers and continually equipped with the latest technologies. Thus, the timelessly elegant construction scores with the best technical ingredients, its unmistakable design with high-quality real wood veneer and characterful aluminum front panels and the incomparably good Canton sound. The 3-way bass reflex floorstanding speakers inspire with excellent sound characteristics and are suitable for all styles of music due to their balance.

Timeless since 1980 - the models of the Ergo Series are committed to their history: the real wood speakers are now already in their seventh generation. The classic chassis arrangement has been retained to this day: The Ergo 690 DC floorstanding speaker has the tweeter and midrange systems on top and a massive bass with 2 x 200 mm woofers below. In these classic hi-fi speakers, the organically shaped cabinet construction of high-quality, solid multi-layer laminate allows for a large interior volume. The wide baffle has a black metal grille that gives the real wood speaker its characteristic face. The aluminium grille picks up the curve of the speaker cabinet and provides the necessary protection for the speaker systems without affecting the sound. If desired, the grilles can be removed to reveal the technology. With the Ergo 690 DC and the Ergo 670 DC, the Ergo series offers floorstanding speakers for larger and smaller rooms. In combination with the Ergo 620 compact loudspeaker and the SUB 650 subwoofer, the series can easily be expanded into a home cinema system. 

In addition to their classic elegance, the Ergo 690 DC are distinguished by their high degree of technical maturity: for example, the mature and well-proven aluminum-manganese tweeters and high-quality aluminum midrange and woofer chassis ensure an accurate sound image with impressive dynamic capabilities. The speakers are very solidly built, with multiple internal bracing and high-quality internal cabling. In addition, strategically placed damping of the cabinets and selected crossover components ensure the sonic optimization of the 24-kilogram floorstanding speakers. Two 192 mm woofers with light and stiff aluminum cones, powerful drives and triple folded wave surrounds ensure powerful and precise bass with enormous depth in the large cabinet volume. With its large diaphragm area and suspension in our patented wave surround, the 174 mm midrange specialist is a dynamic as well as always sovereign playing partner. It sits at the top of the baffle in its own, optimally dimensioned cabinet volume. In combination with the sophisticated 25 mm dome tweeter, the Ergo 690 DC spoils its listeners with an enormously balanced sound image and the exact, spatial reproduction of the musical events.

Like all our loudspeakers, we manufacture the Ergo 690 DC in our factory in Weilrod in the Taunus region of Germany. In this way, we maintain the necessary quality standards, minimize tolerances, eliminate any defects and meet the high sound requirements of our speakers. The Ergo loudspeaker models are finished by hand in numerous steps - so at the end of production, these speakers shine with timeless elegance. The 3-way floor-standing speakers are available in the real wood veneer variants "Cherry", "Wenge" and "Ash". The high-quality aluminum front grille gives the Ergo models their own, characterful face. Thanks to the frontfire bass reflex system, the speakers can be placed close to the wall without any problems. With these floor-standing speakers, the high and mid-range can be controlled separately from the low-frequency range by means of bi-wiring/biamping. 24-carat gold-plated, sturdy screw terminals ensure optimum signal transmission. And the DC technology developed by Canton ensures tight and precise bass, even at the highest sound levels.
