The Romantic marks Bruno Mars' fourth studio album and his first solo release since 2017's 24K Magic. Arriving after chart-topping collaborations with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic and high-profile hits alongside Lady Gaga and ROSÉ, the album signals a return to Mars' solo spotlight. Across its sequence, The Romantic blends sharp rhythmic instincts with melodic finesse, movingbetween tight, groove-led tracks and polished, emotionally direct songwriting. From the percussive energy of "Cha Cha Cha" to the reflective tone of "On My Soul" and the slow-burn atmosphere of "Nothing Left," the album balances classic pop craftsmanship with contemporary production detail. Bruno Mars steps back, rose-in-mouth, adding yet one more fling to a career full of flirtations with The Romantic, his first full-length LP after '24K Magic'. Though those years in between were spent heads-down in the studio, not the bedroom, bar or restaurant, much of this time shared with longtime partner in production D'Mile. Lead single 'I Just Might' sets the tone with green-suited funk and a funkiness not lost, as we see Mars follow the 'Uptown Funk' formula while body-double compositing sees him perform alongside five or six clones of himself. It's his first solo full-length since the late 2010s,z the remaining singles for which we'll just have to wait for.
