High Performance Subwoofer Interconnect Cable

AudioQuest believes good cable design is all about damage control. In AQ's view, the perfect cable would be one that adds nothing — no noise, no distortion — to the original signal. Even AudioQuest's affordable Evergreen cables embody this philosophy. They bring together some of AQ's most advanced designs and materials, for excellent sound quality from a single joined cable that's relatively thin and lightweight.

Contrary to their name, Black Labs’ heritage actually traces back to Newfoundland in the 1700s, when they were first known as “Saint John’s Dogs.” When this large Newfoundlandbased breed was mixed with smaller water dogs, the result is the dog now known as the Labrador. Labradors (Black or otherwise) are known for their dedication to duty, their highly developed sense of smell and hearing, and their endless capacity for playing “fetch” (they are “retrievers” after all!). These traits combine to make Labradors excellent service dogs for the handicapped as well as wonderful pets.

METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION
It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise-Dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.
SYMMETRICAL COAX GEOMETRY
Identical positive (+) and negative (-) conductors prevent the shield from being used as an inferior audio conductor.
COLD-WELDED, GOLD-PLATED TERMINATIONS
This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.

SOLID LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS
Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. The surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.
FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

Decent quality Subwoofer cable in 8m length

The Audioquest Black Lab in 8m length is the perfect cable that i had waited long enough to place my Subwoofer in the ideal sweet spot at the rear end without the worry of cable length limitation. In my case, i ran a 3/4" conduit under the floor at the time of construction with the foresight to accommodate concealed cabling for the Surround speakers. The 3/4" Conduit was able to accommodate 2 x Chord LeylineX speaker cables (5.60mm diameter) along with the Audioquest Black Lab Subwoofer Cable. So, for people in my situation wondering if they could fit the Black lab in a 3/4" conduit, the answer is an absolute Yes. The diameter of the Blacklab cable is 5.30mm & the RCA jack is 11.45mm Solution: I pulled out the 2 x Chord LeylineX (5.60mm diameter) cables out of the conduit before trying to run the black lab through the conduit. I held the Black lab's ground wire firmly attached to the cable with a painter's tape so that it doesn't get entangled or damaged while pulling out from the other end. Fully taped the jack to avoid any scratches or dust getting in to it and attached a cable run spring wire to at least 1 feet length of the cable to evenly distribute the pull force if any on to the cable and not to the jack. This way, getting the Black Lab Sub cable out the other end was easy and once the thicker jack is out, i ran the 2x Chord cables through the same 3/4" conduit. Since the Audioquest Black Lab cable is shielded i wouldn't worry about cable interference with the 2xChord speaker cables which are tin plated copper strands in twisted pair configuration anyway. Overall, i am very satisfied with the quality of the sound output through the Audioquest Black Lab sub cable. My very first order with Audio.Co and will continue to order more. I am happy with the customer centric followup call by Mr. Jasdeep before shipping my order and the fast shipping.
