Vincent SV-228 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier
It is time to present a new release from a Vincent amplifier line with a long tradition. The new Vincent SV-228 is the natural evolutionary step in the succession of the PowerLine units from the Vincent SV-226 through the SV-226MK, SV-226MKII, SV-227 and SV-227MK. The SV-228 presents itself in a completely new “outfit”, with a VU meter embedded in the front panel. The coloured backlight can be switched using a slide switcher on the backside.
With the new amplifier with integrated DAC SV-228, the renowned German firm has taken a leap in the evolution of its line of amplifiers from the PowerLine range, providing new features that will delight all audiophiles.
Internally functioning with 3 valves (1 x 6N4, 2 x JJ ECC82) in the input stage, which prepare the musical signal before passing to the output stage. For final amplification, Toshiba A1941 transistors are used, generating an output power of a maximum of 180 watts per channel. Enough power to also drive critical speakers.
The SV-228 features a completely new design, with a VU meter embedded in the front panel. The backlight color can be switched using a sliding switch on the back.
New amplifier input connectivity. The new SV-228 now has a Bluetooth input (ver. 5.0) for wireless streaming.
For home theater fans, a Main Input has been incorporated, which allows the unit to be used as a power amplifier and can, for example, connect an A/V preamplifier.
In terms of sound, the SV-228 is in no way inferior to its predecessors. Quite the opposite: dynamics and resolution have been improved, without losing its natural and warm characteristics. Of course, the SV-228 has an automatic shut-off function defined by the Ecodesign Regulations, which can be disconnected using a switch located on the back of the unit.
