Rotel celebrates 60th anniversary with their ’Michi-inspired’ Diamond Series

High-end Japanese audio brand Rotel is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of family ownership today with the international introduction of its “Diamond Series” high-performance RA-6000 integrated amplifier and DT-6000 DAC CD Transport.

The two-channel “Diamond Series” was chosen to commemorate the 1961 founding of the Rotel brand in Tokyo, Japan by Tomoki Tachikawa. The respected high-performance audio manufacturer has remained in family control to this day. It is distributed in North America and various other regions of the world by The McIntosh Group.

The Diamond Series models unveiled today feature an industrial design engineered with modern, contemporary styling. The look and performance are intended to reflect the legacy of other popular models in the company’s stable of classic HiFi components.

The Diamond Series RA-6000 and DT-6000 will be available through authorized Rotel dealers starting in July 2022. The matching components will be available in black and silver finishes.

The RA-6000 integrated amplifier packs 350 watts of output power into 4-ohm speaker loads, along with subwoofer support. Its engineering design rides along side the technical and performance design excellence of the brand’s flagship Michi series models, the company said.

This includes the Michi circuits design, acoustic components, and power supply engineering methods, further featuring upgrades found in Rotel’s recent MKII models.

An array of source inputs ensures connection to modern and legacy audio sources including: three coaxial, three optical, three analog, PC-USB supporting MQA, Bluetooth with aptX HD for high performance wireless streaming, XLR Balanced, iOS USB for Apple devices and a Moving Magnet Phono stage for vinyl enthusiasts.

The DT-6000 DAC CD Transport is called “the ultimate source component for discerning audiophiles and music lovers alike.” The component includes a PC-USB input supporting MQA and DSD audio playback and renders PCM 32-bit/384kHz music files through the coaxial and optical inputs supporting music streamers and media players with the included tray loading CD Mechanism providing silent music playback flexibility.

The DT-6000 is anchored by an 8-channel ESS Sabre ES9028PRO Digital to Analog converter configured to dedicate four mono DACs each to the left and right channels.

Redundant signal processing of the digital data streams delivers audio with clarity and detail via a very low noise floor.

To accomplish this, the company said the DAC was designed with custom engineered fully balanced differential output filters with sonic components precisely tuned for life-like reproduction of the audio.

The DT-6000 uses a proprietary shielded toroidal transformer with high efficiency slit foil smoothing capacitors that reduce stray emissions and deliver independent, isolated, low noise power to all critical circuits to further diminish extraneous noise and distortion.

We are pleased to announce the Rotel Diamond series are now available for pre order at The Audio Co.
